For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to the environment and the energy of the Earth. As a child growing up in the small rural town of Charlotte, Michigan, I would go explore the woods that surrounded my house. I would experience, learn about and explore every inch of the property. This kick started my journey to see the world for all of its beauty and its quirks. My goal is to explore, study and try to understand the workings of the forest; especially how a fallen tree can affect a space. As an artist, I feel it is important to visually capture the energy and the power of the woods and communicate my perspective of how nature should be seen. I believe that nature should be seen for both its intimacy and its grand scale. I am truly passionate in this quest to communicate the visual complexities of the natural world and hope that the viewers of my work will come to appreciate the wonderful aspects of this planet that we cannot always explain; when we come together we can help preserve the areas untouched by human hand.
